  • Workshop update!
    All workshops will now be taking place at our new venue, the Holiday Inn San Marcos — Conference Center. Look for signs as you enter the building, or ask at Registration as you check in.
  • IMPORTANT! Symposium venue has been changed!
    Due to a water line break and major flooding in the San Marcos Activity Center, we have been forced to change venues to the Holiday Inn San Marcos — Convention Center.  The address is 105 Bintu Drive, San Marcos, TX   78766.  This site is further from most eateries, and from the Monday evening Social, so a vehicle will definitely be helpful.  If possible, please offer… Read More »IMPORTANT!   • Texas movie premier of “Sixteen Legs”
    We are very happy to announce the addition of the Texas Premier of “Sixteen Legs”, an incredible movie about life in a Tasmanian cave.   • Second Call for Papers coming up soon!
    15 September is the deadline for abstract submissions. Information is at https://symposium2021.nckms.org/info/submissions. Don’t forget that we’ll need the full papers for publication by 1 November.
  • Room block at hotels to expire 28 September
    If you are planning to take advantage of the reduced rates offered at the Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express, those rates will no longer apply after 28 September. You do not have to stay in either hotel, as there are plenty of other lodging options in and around San Marcos.

  • Wednesday Reception at Bracken Bat Cave
    Bat Conservation International is hosting a reception for Symposium participants at Bracken Bat Cave on Wednesday after the field trips! The field trip buses will take us directly to the Bracken Bat Cave Preserve, where we will have refreshments (and possibly beer from Freetail Brewing Company!), see the cave entrances, learn about BCI’s cave conservation efforts, and then have dinner on site.
